On January 31st, the Student Assembly passed Resolution #25 in support of climate change and sustainability literacy. It encourages undergraduate students to partake in such courses and shows the Student Assembly's support for the clubs working on improving sustainability and climate change literacy.

Resolution #25 begins by discussing the global issue of climate change and its impact on everyone. In order to mitigate and adapt moving forward, it is important for every Cornell student to graduate more knowledgeable about issues surrounding global climate change than when they had entered the university.

The resolution continues with discussions about previous actions other assemblies have already taken. For example, the Employee Assembly passed Resolution #11, which encourages Cornell staff participation in climate change literacy. Resolution #25 also cites University Assembly Resolution #17, which supports Employee Assembly Resolution #11. 

Student Assembly Resolution #25 not only encourages undergraduate students to pursue and actively engage in sustainability courses, clubs, and activities on campus, it also requests the support of Cornell's President, Martha E. Pollack. The Student Assembly asks that President Pollack participate in university-led discussions about climate change and sustainability as well as include undergraduate input in related policy-making processes.
