Sustainable Campus Connections - June 2019

Hanging around campus for the summer? We have resources for buying seasonal vegetables, growing your garden, and participating in a daylight event this June.

Staff and campus residents are invited to join Daylight Hour on June 21st.

Simply turn off all lights in work spaces with access to daylight. Become a part of this worldwide effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by registering your office. (https://events.cornell.edu/event/daylight_hour) With all this extra daylight, you might be interested in growing your own food (https://sustainablecampus.cornell.edu/about/connect/news/sustainability…) . No green thumb? That's OK - you can still sign up for a local CSA for fresh produce all summer long. Here's a list of options (https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.cce.cornell.edu/attachments/36504/2019_…) . And in other great news, students can now apply for the new peer-to-peer sustainability education program (https://experience.cornell.edu/opportunities/residential-sustainability…) , and anyone can see how we did in RecycleMania this year (https://sustainablecampus.cornell.edu/about/connect/news/cornell-comple…) . - Campus Sustainability Office https://experience.cornell.edu/opportunities/residential-sustainability… ** Peer education program launching in Cornell's residential communities (https://experience.cornell.edu/opportunities/residential-sustainability…) ------------------------------------------------------------ ** Applications due July 5th 2019 ------------------------------------------------------------ We need your help building a culture of sustainability on campus.
