1. Log In & Open the Report Builder

1. Go to stars.aashe.org.
2. Click Log In (top right).
3. Enter your Cornell email and password.
4. Once logged in, click Report Builder from the dashboard.
   (This is the updated name for the “Reporting Tool.”)

2. Locate Your Credit(s)

1. In the left-hand navigation menu, you will see all credits grouped under headings like Academics, Engagement, Operations, etc.
2. Expand the appropriate section and click on the credit you have been assigned.
3. Your credit page will open with editable fields, data tables, and upload options.

3. Instructions for Data Reviewers

You are responsible for quality-checking the data providers’ work.

Step-by-Step:

1. Open the Assigned Credit:
   • After the data provider notifies you, open the credit in Report Builder.
2. Check Accuracy:
   • Compare numbers to source documents.
   • Make sure date ranges, definitions, and methodologies are correct.
3. Verify Documentation:
   • Ensure all required uploads are present, clearly named, and current.
   • Confirm URLs are live and accessible.
4. Provide Feedback:
   • If data needs correction, leave a note in the credit and notify the provider.
5. Mark as Complete:
   • Once the credit is accurate and ready, scroll to the bottom and click Complete.
   • This locks the credit and signals the STARS Administrator that it is ready for final submission.

If you are already working with specific offices, teams, or individuals to collect data for your STARS credit(s) — or believe additional partnerships would help — we welcome your recommendations. Please email STARS@cornell.edu
 

In addition to helping with credits, peer review is another opportunity to assist with the STARS process.
