Cornell students, faculty, and staff interested in campus sustainability and climate leadership will have two opportunities to learn about campus progress and engage with senior leadership this Fall.

Sharing progress on renewable energy development on campus, sustainability reporting metrics, and progress in areas like dining food waste, student climate literacy, and more, the Sustainable Cornell Council (SCC) will provide an update and open Q&A form at the “State of Cornell Sustainability” Address on September 27 at noon over Zoom.

The three steering committees of the Council oversee Cornell's priority sustainability areas.  Co-chairs of the Carbon Neutral Campus, Education & Engagement, and Campus Operations committees will provide updates on current sustainability priorities, and goals. Members of the campus community can submit questions ahead of time to sustainability@cornell.edu or during Zoom registration.

Time for open Q&A will also be held during the event.

The Council and Cornell Campus Sustainability Office will also offer a sustainability networking event for the Cornell community on October 19 in Willard Straight Hall.

The Mix & Mingle will connect Cornellians with the campus’ sustainability steering committees and provide opportunities to engage with SCC members.  Participants are encouraged to discuss their own sustainability work and research and connect with like-minded campus community members. Food and beverage will be provided.

Snacks and beverages will be provided, but RSVP is required to limit food waste. Limited space is available for community participants.
