Duffield's upgraded humidification, heat recovery, and airflow systems, implemented through an Energy Conservation Initiative (ECI) project is on track to achieve an 11% reduction in carbon emissions from the 2022 baseline.

Olin Hall's Heat Recovery Project significantly enhanced energy efficiency and sustainability by replacing 39 individual lab exhaust fans with a centralized heat recovery unit installed on the roof, reducing energy consumption by 8% and improving the building's overall environmental impact.

Campus engineers confirm that the Biotechnology Building, after multiple efficiency upgrades since 2004, including retrofitting four rooftop exhaust stacks for heat recovery, now saves nearly $670,000 annually in energy costs compared to 2004.
